£1.2 million for Twycross from HSBC…
JRA is delighted that, as a result of close teamwork with Twycross Director Suzanne Boardman and her management team, we have helped secure a grant of £1.2 million from global banking giant HSBC. This was the fruit of many months of negotiation, and Twycross’ informal ‘Advisory Board’, set up by JRA, was crucial with a special debt owed to member James Ross, former MD of BP.
To the best of our knowledge this is the second largest instance of corporate support for a UK zoo ever (ranking after Jaguar Cars sponsorship at Chester Zoo see next…)

Got something to say?

Hi John – Just saw your name on Michelle Desilets FB page. Would love to know more about your work.
I am the CEO of nuubiachocolat – a chocolate company with a social mission. We are a fine artisan chocolate producer in the San Francisco Bay Area. Our passion is to produce fine chocolates, using a portion of our proceeds to fund wildlife sanctuaries throughout the world.
We just launched last week and yesterday we did our first fundraiser at the Oakland Zoo – who in turn is raising funds for the Bodongo Snare Removal project in Uganda. Just our little donation netted them $400 — which will remove a lot of snares and help a lot of chimpanzees ( 25% of whom are maimed from these snares)
Our next project is for the orangs…having worked with them when I was just out of grad school.
Sounds like we have a lot in common
my website is http://www.nuubiachocolat.com.
Nice to meet you. I’d love to share some ideas with you. Perhaps we can work together to get some more donations from companies like HSBC.
Kind Regards,
Alexandra Saunders
