What can we do to help you access major funding…?
We can do a short inexpensive exercise to help you convince your town, your city, your county, your region or your national government that your site merits major capital investment.
This will involve helping them to see that you contribute to prosperity, that you promote learning and research, that you are about international links and all sorts of public benefits beyond the obvious. This may also involve your developing your own ideas as to what your site is about (but without taking you away from your core interests).
We know how regional politicians and decision makers think. Time and time again we have been able to help open the eyes of major funding decision makers as to the value of a zoo, aquarium, botanic garden with exciting financial results.
We can help you put together an informal and purely voluntary group of very well placed individuals at senior ranks in industry and politics who can open doors to major sponsors and advise on very high level approaches. This has had spectacular results for Chester and Twycross Zoos, and we are now underway doing similar exercises for the Zoological Society of London and the National Zoo of Wales.
We can also develop a very cost effective Economic Impact Assessment for a given site or network of sites. This will prove the benefits your organisation already provides for society and how you contribute to the tax base. Increasingly this kind of exercise is a prerequisite for public funding
We can run an intensive one off workshop to ‘set you on the rails’ to achieve funding yourselves (especially appropriate for organisations across Europe in respect of funding from the European Union). Examples have included Skansen, Stockholm; Nordens Ark, Western Sweden; Sofia Zoo, Bulgaria, etc. After one of our workshops, Skansen went off and won itself a €4 million sponsorship (see our blog for an interview with the management there)
We can work with you on a medium to long term strategic basis (current examples include Twycross and National Zoological Society of Wales) to investigate transformational funding potential and implement multi-million investment packages
We can provide an objective science based measurement of the commercial value of the sponsorship worth of your projects ( whether you are in an existing sponsor relationship or seeking a new one) to allow you to negotiate with sponsors from a position of strength and knowledge
We can research lists of UK, European and USA foundations that are appropriate to your project
We can compose one off funding applications for specific bids
We can carry out other funding projects tailored to your needs
